Life Imitates Art: The Pina Colada Song in the Internet Era

When I read this story it made me think of The Pina Colada Song. Amazingly funny — the Pina Colada Song in the Internet Era. Here’s the story in a nutshell:

A Bosnian couple are getting divorced after finding out they had been secretly chatting each other up online under fake names.

the message in the humor you find in the unhappy ending is telling. If you have half a brain....I'm the lady you looked for come with me and escape. Interesting that the lyrics also include half a brain.

That song is such a discussed piece. I have so many people tell me the parts they misheard... and my dad once owned the rights to the master recording. I am not into yoga (I'm not into champagne.... anymore)

    I like midnight
    Peace
    Love
    Success
    Escape
    Talking
    Friends
    Truth
    Love
    Happiness

    I don't like
    People falling from grace
    Cold
    Pain
    Small planes
    Humiliation
    Loss

Anyway... my learning for the day is what matters. Important, urgent, needed.... none of those... people matter to me and to each other.

So I guess it's more like 'Babooshka' by Kate Bush.
  • oh how funny! ha! It's just like the Pina Colada song! well, except for the divorce.
  • Pinky Bear, yes, I forgot that part. Oops!
  • Too bad their story didn't have a happy ending, unlike Pina Coloda.
