Squirrels in the Attic
We have a family of squirrels that’s moved into our attic. In fact, they’re running around above my head right now. (It’s a mama squirrel and 3-4 babies.)
Guess how much it costs to have squirrels removed from your attic in Berwyn, PA? A grand. I’m not kidding. There’s a base fee. Visit fees. And it costs $109 per squirrel to have them live trapped and taken away. What the hell happens if there are 10 of them?

Hi, it's me, the guy whose name is at the top of the page. I'm on the left doing my best impression of Mr. Magoo. Those are my boys Steve and Matt. They're a lot bigger than me now, but I like this picture from last summer, so I'm going with it.
$109 per squirrel? Maybe you could just charge them rent. Did you ever read Star’s posts about the squirrel who took up residence at her place? There is actually a link to it in the most recent post at Sarcasmo’s Corner. It occurred just about this time in April in 2006. You may find it funny, or in your current circumstance , you may not. Good luck.
Just don’t let them die. The cost of removing a dead squirrel is even more and decaying squirrels stink up the entire house. I speak from experience.
One of my neighbors just had a raccoon rip through his roof and get in the attic. Lots of damage and clean up.

Everything starts at a thousand dollars these days. Get the squirrels out fast, though, before they can do much damage.
I’ve been getting estimates on a fence and on a wood stove. OUCH!!!
Havahart traps!

Buy a big cat.
So far they’re still in the attic. The 3 Hav-a-hart traps on the roof are deactivated for the weekend. (For the small fee of $99, which happens every Friday because they don’t work on the weekends.)
I have a small cat. He’s smaller the the littlest squirrel. He wants outside, but mostly to skulk around in the grass.
Sarcasmom, I remembered that story, and it was funny to read it again. Timeless.
I’ll give an update to you all when I get some resolution. At this point, I have money out of pocket, squirrels still in the attic, and my own personal version of “A Telltale Heart” going on.
