Going Long

by Frank on July 6, 2008

We did the 5-mile loop at Ridley Creek State Park today. Gorgeous setting. There’s a pretty serious half-mile uphill climb at one point that had my old ticker knocking, but it was a great circuit all the same. I’m going to try to get up to 10 miles within a couple of weeks.

This is really outstanding progress. You’ll be tackling those 10 miles in no time!

I went for a run by Wissahickon Creek today and I was amazed at how the change of scenery made the run that much more pleasant.

Frank,

Did you walk this or bike this?

My god man, I would need a GPS device or a guide to get me through that maze!

I’ll bet Amelia Earhart is lost somewhere in there.

BMIML, it was great to change scenery. The weather was good — shady and 72. I need that or I get overheated.

Pax, this was on foot. LOL, I’m the worst at directions in the entire world…I had Sheryl the Navigator with me, thank goodness, or I would have gone all Amelia Erhart on myself.

Pinky Bear, I have the name, not the stamina. LOL.

After doing some seiou uphill walking in Italy earlier this month, I have altered my treadmill routine by replacing some time running with some walking up a steep incline. IT really is a workout.

We need to do a whole hiking/biking thing when I come out next time.

How far ahead of you was Sheryl?

Rick, Sheryl took pity on me because she can be as far ahead of me as she wants.

Sarcasmom, I was pretty amazed at the hill workout. It was great…my heart was pounding.
