That is beautiful! Nothing like homegrown tomatoes (a Guy Clark song). We're growing only David-sized ones this year; the two biggest varieties are San Marzano and Juliet, both of which are small. Enjoy!!

Dave, I just knew you'd be growing some heirlooms!

Pax, that's going to be the plan for the next batch. Sounds like an Italian feast.

Jessica, that sounds great...sweet and crunchy. I'm hoping to have enough tomatoes to try out lots of things!

Don't waste that tomato in a sandwich!!!

Chop it up into nice thick pieces, and then put it in a bowl with some olive oil. Then cut up some fresh mozzarella cheese and add it, finally sprinkle with some fresh basil and garlic salt. Cover the bowl and let it sit for several hours (room temp), and then dig in!

Sop up the oil with some good Italian bread.

Beautiful. I've got 4 or 5 ripe Wisconsin 55's right now, as well as a couple Hillbilly's. Love the heirlooms... Hope your sandwich was as good as it sounds.
