Umbrella Man

by Frank on September 17, 2008

People can be awful strange sometimes. This guy got on the train last Friday and was having a little trouble closing his umbrella. So what does he do? He leaves his umbrella open and just sets it down next to him in the aisle.

Yeah, that makes sense. Right up there with driving massive SUVs while talking on the cell phone. (I’d rather have someone point a loaded gun at my head than see a tennis mom yakking on her phone while she tailgates me about a foot behind my car that weighs half what hers weighs.) People can be awfully strange sometimes, indeed.

The term Whatshisname uses for these kind of folks is “trifling”. I'm not exactly sure what that word REALLY means, but I like the sound of it.

So, yeah, 'Umbrella dude, is trifling! '

Oh, and what happened to my top score as Frank's Number One Commenter!

Pax, that's a great word that Whatshisname uses. It's exactly that…little people with little proclivities.

Hey, you're always Number 1. I think Disqus was acting up a bit yesterday…now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I am hoping that the next president institutes a national Miss Manners training program that would be mandatory for all adults as well as a requirement throughout K-12.

The focus on ME is a major contributor to much of the evils facing us today. I blame it for the current financial crisis more than any influence of the Fed.

Where is an ice sheet to drift off on when you need one?
