I have a really good feeling. It's going to take a while to reverse some really bad years, but I'm glad we're going to start.

I believe Obama will deliver. It will take time to reverse the damage done over the Bush years, but Obama will bring a good vibe back to America.

There's a great and timely book by Jonathan Alter called The Defining Moment: FDR's Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope. It's about how FDR inspired America in the midst of the worst crisis since the Civil War by giving them hope...not sugar coating the depth of the problems, but making them believe we could work through them. Lots of parallels with Obama, I think.

Marvin, we do need a new way, and I think Obama is going to show us that. I'm tired of crazy wars...I told my boys 6 years ago that there was no way we'd have another Vietnam, that we were too smart. It's a fighting mentality that scares me, and Obama knows how to compromise. We could use a little of that. We'll find out in a week...and I'll be at the Inauguration in January. It'll be historical.

In tough times, I think two of the greatest assets in a president are intelligence and the ability to inspire. These are the things Obama is made of.

Good point, Frank. I have mixed emotions about Obama winning, though. I don't know whether to have a victory party or a prayer service for Obama. He's going to need all the help he can get over the next four years.

Considering our messes from the economy to various "foreign entanglements", I don't know why any sane person would even want to be President. Regardless, we'll be better off with Obama in the White House than McCain.
