Sunday Kind of Love

by Frank Roche on March 2, 2009

Etta James’ version of Sunday Kind of Love is one of my favorite songs. It’s funny, I don’t even own it on iTunes (yet), but every time I hear it I remind myself how much I like it. Today, I heard it in a coffee shop.

This movie is a really cool version of it. This filmmaker did a student film using the song as a backdrop. I like it even more.

I love Etta James even more since she threatened to kick Beyonce's well padded butt!

All kidding aside, that is a beautiful song.

Pax, I loved that too. And I know you like Etta…was thinking that when I was listening to the song. Too funny that old broad has some real pluck.

Odd that they would use a white girl for that music. Throwback to the days when black artists album covers would feature white people.

I don't know how I missed Etta James all these years. I've really been getting into her stuff lately. 'specially 'I'd rather go blind' and 'you got it'.

Sadly, the older I get, the more I go for throwback music. I'm clearly at
the age where music people don't market to me anymore. That's why I'm so
glad to read your stuff…I get a new music education that way. I really
like it…and I like Etta. Great songs.
