I don’t know why I picked 50 things for 2008. Maybe it’s because it’s too much work to come up with 2,008 things for 2008. Here’s my list:
- Eat more fish.
- Eat no cheeseburgers.
- Exercise more.
- Or any.
- Learn Italian just because it sounds so beautiful.
- Go to Italy.
- Go on vacation.
- Open an office in NYC.
- Think seriously about doing business in Sydney. Yep, Australia.
- Move low-fi video to the front of what communication means to our clients.
- Be mindful.
- Be thankful.
- Stop judging; go with celebrating.
- Drink more good red wine.
- Drink more tea.
- Drink a lot less coffee.
- Say goodbye to half-and-half.
- Know that Ben & Jerry are not my friends.
- Don’t give in to gravity.
- Walk up stairs even though an escalator is right in front of me.
- Ride my bike at least 1,000 miles.
- Celebrate friends’ successes.
- Lay off the horn.
- Take fewer left turns.
- Learn something new every day.
- Be amazed.
- Be bold.
- Get rid of shirts I’m never going to wear.
- Give other clothes I won’t wear to Purple Heart.
- Go hiking.
- Floss.
- Try to eat more like a Mediterranean and less like an Irishman.
- Watch more movies (Netflix is my friend).
- Build something out of wood.
- Play in a poker tournament.
- Take more photographs.
- Go to more places that merit being photographed.
- Start in my backyard.
- Write more.
- Submit a book proposal.
- Get up.
- Get going.
- Look good in a suit.
- Wear my tux.
- Smile more.
- Scowl less.
- Get my hernia fixed.
- Plan to go to Everest Base Camp.
- Solidify that Running with the Bulls trip.
- Be successful with a good chunk of these. (It’s a start.)
