Go Tonight or Take the 5:15?

by Frank Roche on September 16, 2007

I have to do a client pitch in NYC tomorrow morning. Early. And 24 hours before I have to do it I’m sitting here thinking about whether I should go up to New York later today, which takes away a whole Sunday (plus all the prep I have to do) or do I take the 5:15 am train tomorrow morning? Such dilemmas in life. I’m leaning toward the early train, but I hate that sick stomach feeling I get from waking in the middle of the night. (I’m an early riser, but I’d have to get up at 3:45 am or so to get going. And I need to be Mr. Marvelous during the dog-and-pony show.)

Take a deep breath. Relax. Prepare today, go in the Am and you will be fine. I am smiling for you!

Pinky Bear, thanks for the words of encouragement. I’m a big believer in good Karma, so that helps. Thanks!

Go tonight – when you wake in NY in the fall, you feel like you can do anything. Down load, New York State of Mind by Billy Joel to listen to as you take the cab ride and the walk in the morning. Taking the train up in the morning to NY is a commute. Waking the brain up in the morning IN NY is preparation.

I went with the go up early route. Had an easy dinner up here…the temperature is perfect. I’ll have a 10-minute stroll to the client’s offices in the morning…and all will be good. I’ll be relaxed and ready to rock their world.

As much as I hate to travel on Sunday I would have done the same. Let me know how great you were after its over.
