Milwaukee and Miami Rhyme

by Frank Roche on January 25, 2009

Milwaukee and Miami rhyme, but that’s where the similarities end. Tonight, I’m flying to the one of the pair that has a single digit Fahrenheit for the current temperature. I wish it were 87…not 7.

Been a long hard winter for us here in the midwest and 7 degrees is starting to feel warm. I'm losing it, can't wait for spring to get here.

That's pretty similar to the recent temps at the farm in Iowa. That's where I will probably retire. Thank goodness for cook stoves and back-up generators!

I'm impressed with how much outdoor training you've been doing in these
temps. Man, I'm getting too old for the cold. This is the first year that
I've really noticed it. You guys have had some crazy cold days this winter.

Merci, make sure you bundle up, then. Actually, from the pictures you've
taken, that farm in Iowa sounds wonderful. And there is nothing better than
the onset of spring on a farm. That makes the winter worth it.

Yeah but Frank in Milwaukee you can get Schlitz beer. In Miami you would probably have to have some sort of umbrella drink! So sit out on the veranda and pop open a cold one and enjoy each and every drop for “when you are out of Schlitz, you're out of beer!”

Sad, but this is the first year ever in my life I'm not rooting for a big snowstorm. Too old to shovel it and don't want a lawsuit if someone slips.

Hey, buddy, we have things to protect at our age: Our backs and our wallets.
I'm with you on both fronts…already had the blownout back in the last
year…
