Thoughts on a Perfect Sunday Morning

Perfect mornings come around on every once in a while. This morning is one of those. All the windows are open in my living room, and all I hear is the chirping and whistling of hundreds of birds. You know how people say, “There isn’t a cloud in the sky”? There isn’t. Benny J. Cat XXIII is sitting on the windowsill and wishing that a screen didn’t separate him from the outside world.

Matt and his friends are at the Shore. Eight of them rented a house for Senior Week. It was fun watching them pack up and get ready yesterday morning for their first adventure into Grownupland.

Sheryl and Snickers the Wonder Dog are still sleeping. Stevie, too.

Myself? I’m going to read the New York Times on my deck and finish the Sunday crossword puzzle. Not bad. I love days like this.
