What Upgrades Can You Give Your Employees?

I was going to call this post Remember Alamo but that seemed a bit obscure.

So I titled it what I did.

I got a free upgrade today.

On the spot.

I had rented a nice, full-sized car at Alamo.

Then the woman from the counter came out and said they had a BMW X5 if I wanted for $50 more.

I said, “No thanks. I’ll take what I ordered.”

Then I waited for my car.

The manger came out. Asked me if I wanted the X5.

“No thanks,” I said.

“You’re coming back in two days?” he said.

“I am.”

Then the manager asked for my contract. Wrote on it. And handed me keys.

“The upgrade is on me. Enjoy that car.”

I was surprised. Really happy. Pumped his hand and said, “Thank you!”

When I drove away, I thought about work.

And I wondered what upgrades managers can give to employees that would make them that happy.

I’m hooked. I’ll Remember Alamo.
