Real Friends at Work

One of the best predictors of job satisfaction (what HR people call “engagement”) is having a best friend at work. I thought the picture below summed up what real friendship is about. It’s about doing nice things now and long into the future. With no request for anything in return.

(Another way to look at it: A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body.)

Do what you can to encourage real friendships at work.

And don’t forget to pick up your friends at the airport. Or wherever.
