No Bull, That Double Chin’s Gotta Go

I have a solution and a motivation to shed the double chin. I was talking to the boys tonight (14 and 16) and said, “Hey, let’s go run with the bulls next summer.” I was serious. They said yes.

I’ve wanted to run with the bulls at the Festival of San Fermin for 30 years. I’m not kidding. I absorbed everything that Hemingway wrote. I read and reread Death in the Afternoon. I just haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I’ve wanted to do it, now I can. But there’s a hitch.

“Not until you weigh 200 pounds,” I hear Sheryl say. Oops.

My arguments about me muscling those massive bulls with my bulk just didn’t cut it.

“Two hundred pounds or less. And…you have to get running,” she said.

Well, I figure it’s motivation. I have a year to get there, so that should be pretty straightforward. Got my ponytail cut off. Now it’s time for the double chin. Sounds easier than learning to be a Photoshop expert.

  • Rick, I didn't see that movie....but I wanted to. I wonder if it's still out. I'm not sure I'd be slapping the bulls, I'm more of the run scared guy. I have enough scars, I may just have to go with the adrenaline.
  • Did you see the movie "Wild Hogs"? Generally not funny though I liked the slap the bull scene. Would you do that for me when you are in Spain?
You will be so fast by then it should be a piece of cake. If not, scars are very manly.
  • Wow, it's going to be tough to get the old gang back together...kind of like when The Beatles broke up...hmmm, does this make you Paul, and me, John?
  • Pinky Bear, that's so funny. I was thinking we should have a Pax Family Singers World Tour and we could start in Pamplona. The biggest part of San Fermin is the sangria and the singing, so that would be fun! Let's all go.
  • Bring me back a tail. ;-)
