Spring Cleaning

by Frank Roche on October 9, 2007

He who wants to change the world should already begin by cleaning the dishes.

We’re moving out of our office that we’ve been in for 3 years. It’s amazing — when we moved in we didn’t have a thing. Now, 3 years later, we have one of everything. I think that cleaning is therapeutic…and best left to others.

Actually, I’m enjoying pitching things. Three years worth of stuff and every one a memory.

Oh, by the way, it’s not springtime in Philly. It’s freakin’ SUMMER! Almost 90F today. Hotter than the 4th of July.

We moved out of Officeland last year, after twenty years – the amount of records that we purged was beyond comprehension. The papers we had to keep for all those years, amounted to nothing but a pile of shredded nothing.

So where is iFlipFlop Inc moving to?

And yes, what is up with this freaking weather???

Pax, I couldn’t imagine moving after 20 years — wow. And you guys have to document everything. Craziness. We’re doing a lot of shredding ourselves.

We’re moving out of Philadelphia because I am sick of the Business Privilege Tax. It’s crushing small businesses like ours, which is a professional services company. Not only is the tax onerous, but you have to pay a year in advance on revenue you can’t predict. Crazy. We’re going to move our offices somewhere on the Main Line. We’re looking at places now. I wish we weren’t moving, but what the heck.

Pinky Bear, we don’t have any yo-yo adapters. I looked. We have a few charges for Macs, though, the kind that have the short and long cords that snap in. Would one of those work?

we move our offices after 18 years last year. What a bunch of papers!!

I dunno Frank, we can try them over some iced teas while your still in town. I know you will miss CC. That sucks the way Philly does business with some companies and then Comcast wont pay taxes for 20 years.

Oh no! This is no fun – no more quick visits to the WLCC.

Still, a small business owner has to do what a small business owner has to do.

Oh, it doesn’t mean I won’t be in the city every day. It just means that we’re going suburban and not paying those horrible BPTs.

I’ll still be here. I love Center City. Love it. I love being here, I love doing business here. I don’t like what the mayor and city council have done. It’s a real shame. The cool news is that I’m going to keep my monthly pass and it won’t really be any different than it is now. Just a lot less taxes. (I wished that I could have fond some tax abated property, but that wasn’t in the cards.)

Oh, I hope I’ll be at the WLCC a lot. That’s my favorite spot in town.
