Want a Great Cat?

Would you like a great cat? A friend of mine is giving away her Tonkinese cats. They’re two boys and one girl. The boys are about 3 years old, and the little girl is about two years old. They’re fully housebroken, super socialized, and wonderful cats. She needs to find great homes for them because one of her children has developed an allergy with some asthma, and that’s what the doctor ordered.

The two boys are litter mates and adore each other. Even more than that, they adore people. That’s how Tonkinese are — they are social cats. I happen to have a Tonkinese myself, and I have to say that everyone that comes over first remarks at how pretty he is, and then is soon introduced to how social he is. These cats are the same way — and are from the same cattery.

For those of you who don’t know, Tonkinese are a breed that’s a mixture of Siamese and Burmese, and they got the best traits of both. They’re not yappy like a Siamese — although they do “talk” — and they have that beautiful face and calm temperament that’s typical of the Burmese. They’re long-lived and healthy cats. The boys are about 10 pounds, and the girl is about 6 pounds. (They are fully litter trained and the boys are very well behaved — they were neutered early and have never sprayed or marked or even thought about it.) Tonkinese are not large cats, but they’re strong. The ones my friend has would be a great addition to any family. Plus, there’s none of the kitten fuss — these cats are playful and cuddly without all the kitten worries.

You can see in the pictures that one of the boys and the girl are what’s called “natural minks.” That is, they have the dark brown faces and points at the end of the ears. They are a little darker than they look in the picture – a pretty chocolate brown. The other boy is a blue solid. All three of them have been neutered and have their front claws removed. They’re indoor cats, and my friend is very serious about them going to loving homes. I agree. And if one of these guys was for you, it would be a welcome addition to your household. In fact, she’d consider giving all three to one household if it were the perfect place.

Here are a couple of pictures. Please send me a note at frank [DOT] roche [AT] gmail [DOT] com for more info. The cats are in Philadelphia, btw. The need to be picked up there.
