Our friends have a Mardi Gras party every year. We went last night…really fun time. Evan is a musician, and one of the highlights of the party each year is when he plays the piano and a friend of his plays drums. (Sometimes others play along with guitars.)
It’s really great music. Ragtime. New Orleans Swing. Fun pieces.
This year the music turned into a sing along. Song after song of 50-somethings singing along to songs from the 60s and 70s. It was awesome.
I’m always amazed at how music draws people together. Even when the lyrics are oh-bld-di-ohbla-da. Life goes on.
Man, I love Portland is Leaving by Rocky Votolato. Learning it today on the Martin.
Sheryl and I went to the Lady Gaga concert last night in Philly. It was really something.
